Juniors – On April 1st and 2nd you will be taking the SBAC. Please look for your room assignment in the commons. If you do not see your name, please let Ms. Thompson know immediately. If you are going to be gone, you must make the test up before you leave. See Ms. Thompson if you know you will be absent.
Applications for the Rapid City Youth City Council (June 2025 – May 2026 term) are open until March 31st at www.rcycc.com. Young community members, 14-18 years of age, are encouraged to apply. For more information, please contact Kristin Kiner at 605-310-4400.
Seniors – Before you know it graduation will be here! We need seniors to audition for commencement speaker. If you have something to say, come pick up an application from Mr. Bradley in room 316. To be considered, applications must be returned to Mr. Bradley by Friday, April 4th, along with a typed copy of your graduation speech and a letter of recommendation from a teacher. Only seniors who have submitted typed copies, letters, and applications by this date will be considered. See Mr. Bradley in Room 316 with any questions.
ACTIVITIES
Juniors & Seniors.…The 2025 Prom, “Gatsby Gala,” will take place on Saturday, April 5 from 7-11 pm in the ice arena at the Monument Event Center. Advance tickets may be purchased in the Activities office until Thursday, April 3 @ 3:30. There will be NO advance ticket sales on Friday, April 4 – so please plan accordingly. Advance ticket prices are $20 for an individual or $35 for a couple. Tickets at the door are $20 each. Cash or check only. Students will be allowed to purchase up to 2 tickets only. To purchase tickets, you must be a junior or senior student from RCAS District–Be prepared to show your ID and provide information regarding your guest when purchasing a ticket. If your guest is from out of the RCAS district, you must complete and submit a permission form by Thursday, April 3 before tickets may be purchased. Guests must be from the age of freshman status up to age 20. Everyone must show ID’s at this event. No backpacks or large bags are allowed at this event.
Prom Photos: Sage Studios Photography will be on-site from 6-9 pm on Saturday, April 5th at the Monument Ice Arena offering portrait sessions with two master photographers. We will be capturing the occasion in 2 elegant, vintage-inspired settings designed just for this unforgettable evening! Prom portrait order envelopes are available in the Activities office and also at our downtown portrait studio on the corner of 3rd & Main. …So dust off your finest threads, channel your inner Gatsby, and let’s make this Gala one for the history books.
Get ready to step into the roaring ‘20s and celebrate in true Gatsby style at Stevens High School’s Post Prom Party! Join us for an unforgettable night of fun, laughter, and nonstop entertainment on April 5th from 10PM – 1AM at the US National Guard Armory, located at 3740 Range Rd in Rapid City. The evening will be packed with delicious food, sweet treats, and exciting games with awesome prizes. Don’t miss the glamorous photo booth, raffles, door prizes, and a chance to win the Best Dressed contest with a Prom and Gatsby theme. Best of all, this event is completely FREE for all 9th–12th graders! Yes, 9th & 10th graders are welcome too! Grab your friends, plan your outfits, and prepare to party like Gatsby!
The West River Math Contest is coming up on May 12 and we need YOU to represent Stevens High School! You must Register through Mrs. Conway soon, so talk to her if you are interested. SDSMT requires you to sign up through a school representative, so stop by Room #230 before school, or email her at ruth.conway@k12.sd.us for more information.

Seniors: Graduation items may be picked up in Student Services. If you have not already ordered your cap and gown, please do so as soon as possible. The deadline to order is April 1st.

Students, if you are looking for employment, please stop by Student Services and check out the “Employment Opportunities” board.
Students are not allowed to park in the main entrance parking lots, unless a parking pass is provided by the main office.
If you are involved in a car accident, damage another car, or hit a sign on the SHS Campus, report it immediately to the main office or call 605-394-4051. Do not leave campus, as this may violate hit-and-run laws. Prompt reporting allows Stevens’ security to ensure your safety and assist with the exchange of insurance information.
