Students willing to share their voice and create positive solutions with Dr. Simon, Superintendent of RCAS, are invited to attend the Student Voice Forum on Thursday at 4:30pm. at the Rapid City Educational Center.
FROM STUDENT SERVICES
Juniors and Seniors are expected to attend the Post-High Planning Day at the Civic Center on Thursday during 1st & 2nd periods. Students are to be back to school by 10:04 for 3rd period. Today Seniors will be getting their packets in the Library and Juniors in their English class. If you are a Senior or Junior and don’t get a packet today, stop by Student Services for your Post-High Planning Day Information Packet.
Raiders of Respect will have their first meeting of the year on Friday in the 9th grade lunchroom at 7:35 am. New members are welcome to come check it out! See Mrs. Engel, Advisor, in Student Services if you have questions.
A representative from the National Guard will be in the Link during the lunch hours on Wednesday. A representative from Northwestern College will be in the Link during the lunch hours on Friday.
SENIORS: Today, counselors will be conducting senior meetings in the library periods 1 – 8. English teachers will give you details regarding these meetings. If you do not have a senior English class this semester, you are invited to attend the presentation during lunch or an open hour (you will not be excused from class to attend). Come to the library, find a counselor, and they will help you. Please be on time. If none of these options work for you, please schedule a time to meet with your counselor in the next couple of weeks to talk about your college and career plans.
The US Presidential Scholars Program is a recognition program. Students chosen as US Presidential Scholars receive an expense-paid trip to Washington, DC in June and the US Presidential Scholars medallion at a ceremony sponsored by the White House, in commemoration of their achievements. Candidates must be a high school senior graduating between January and June of 2020 and achieve a 30 or higher on their ACT. Deadline is October 4.
